It's best to book your maternity session between 28–34 weeks of pregnancy. During this window, your baby bump is beautifully round and visible, but you're still comfortable enough to move and enjoy the experience.

For newborn sessions, I recommend booking during your second trimester to ensure availability around your due date. The ideal time to photograph your newborn is within the first 7–14 days after birth, when babies are still sleepy, curly, and easily posed.

Booking early also gives us time to plan your session details, select wardrobe from my client closet, and make sure everything feels relaxed and stress-free once baby arrives.

When should I schedule my maternity and newborn session?

Many clients worry about what to wear to look and feel their best—especially during pregnancy or right after having a baby. That’s why I offer a carefully curated client closet with flattering, bump-friendly and postpartum-friendly options for mamas. I also guide you through outfit planning for the whole family so everyone coordinates beautifully and feels comfortable. My goal is to make the process as easy and stress-free as possible, so you can focus on enjoying this special moment.

“What should I wear for my session?”

02.

Back

This is a common concern, and the good news is—it’s totally normal! As a photographer (and a mom!), I’m very familiar with the unpredictability of little ones. My approach is relaxed and child-led, allowing space for real moments to unfold naturally. I use gentle prompts and play-based interaction to keep things fun and low-pressure. Some of the most beautiful, heartfelt images come from in-between moments—giggles, cuddles, and even the chaos. Your job is to show up and love on your family; I’ll take care of the rest.

“What if my kids don’t cooperate during the session?”

Back

Not much at all! I bring everything needed for your newborn session—including wraps, props, and a full setup for posed and swaddled portraits. All you need to do is keep baby fed and comfortable. I’ll send you a simple prep guide ahead of time with tips on how to get your home warm and baby sleepy for the best results. My goal is to create a calm, stress-free experience for you right in the comfort of your own home.

“Do I need to prepare anything before the session?”

It’s best to book your senior session the summer before or early in senior year, especially if your school has a yearbook deadline. This gives us time to plan your location, outfits, and overall style—and ensures we capture this important milestone without feeling rushed.

“When should I book my senior session?”

05.

Back

Yes! Most clients feel a little nervous at first, and that’s totally normal. I’ll guide you through natural, flattering poses and help you feel at ease throughout the session. You don’t need to know what to do—I’ve got you!

“Do you help with posing? I feel awkward in front of the camera.”
