Typically I recommend babies to be 3-14 days new but with the uncertainties going on in the world everything changed. The world shut down and pregnant mammas were fearful on what would happen when they delivered. Sure, we can stop from coming outside but when the baby is due… the baby is due. I was blessed to still be considered to capture older baby’s portraits. I invested in extra long wraps, because lets face it babies get big fast!
It is amazing how much a baby changes from their first week to their seventh. They gain weight, are more alert, goo-goo more and even hate being naked.
At 7 weeks, being more alert means I get to work extra hard to pose them safely and beautifully. I wouldn’t change it: sweat and all. Just seeing mom’s eye tear up makes my work worth every moment.
Even though we didn’t get the typically poses at 14 days new, we got a lot of memories captured. The details, the toes, the eyelashes and that baby smell we will remember when we look at these images and our memories go back to this age. That is what I love the best.
